Interested in becoming a lifeguard?!

Even if swimming is not your strong point, you can still help keep your community safe at the beach!

SLSNZ Offers two different kinds of qualification when it comes to actively patrolling our beaches - The Surf Lifeguard Award and the Patrol Support Award!

The Patrol Support Award (PSA) is is the same as the Surf Lifeguard Award (SLGA) but without the in water component.
(NO swimming or tube rescue included) - These people are effectively 'Dry Lifeguards'.

Both have a minimum age requirement of 14 years.

If you are a current member who is wanting to patrol and cannot find your name on any patrol list please get in touch with the club lifeguard manager as soon as possible.

If you are not currently a member but are interested in getting involved in Surf Life Saving please refer to the Contact us page to find out how to get in touch and register your interest.
